Clubhouse at Tuam Golf Club

Tuam Golf Club in County Galway has a very central location in the province of Connacht.
Located 20 minutes from the tourist resort of Galway.

Course Description :
Relatively flat terrain with meandering fairways, built on 200 acres of partly rich soil and partly peat bog. A wonderful selection of hazards including water, drains, bunkers, natural rough and the 20,000 varied species trees. The entire grounds of the club are a natural wildlife sanctuary.

Since it’s foundation in 1905 the club has had two previous courses. Firstly, located at the sand hills of Cloonascaragh and secondly, at Mayfield on the Dunmore road. During the mid seventies the club moved to the current location at Cloonascaragh on the Athenry Road. This championship course was initially designed by the renown Eddie Hackett, with more recent improvements by Christy O Connor Jr.  Described by regular visitors as probably the most improved course in the province, the club caters for individual or group visitors Monday to Saturday.

This challenging parkland course, with its flat terrain, caters for the enthusiastic low handicapper as well as the aged and less gifted golfer. The 20,000 thousand varied species trees provide shelter for a vast array of wildlife, many of whom can frequently viewed strolling the fairways, such as foxes and pheasants.

Over the years Tuam Golf Club has hosted many golfing championships.
