Station House Hostel

Station House Hotel in the heart of Connemara

Wonderfully nostalgic development in the heart of Connemara, Clifden's former railway station, its Station House, Platform and Engine House have all been magnificently restored and transformed into a very special kind of hotel. Old brick and native oak are remarkably incorporated with the modern facilities of this fine hotel.

One of the many bedrooms in this modern hotel

The 78 bedrooms feature modern facilities such as tea and coffee making, an iron and ironing board, trouser press and direct dial telephone. There is a choice of either a double of single bed arrangement, or double
with sofa bed.

Beautifully decorated reception area

The themed Station House Bar is reminiscent of many traditional Irish pubs. Genuine antiques set off the prominent railway theme. The old rail track is incorporated as a footrest around the bar.

Superbly located in Clifden, the capital of Connemara, the region abounds with a variety of activities for the holidaymaker.

Choose from hillwalking, climbing, horseriding, trekking, golf at Ballyconneely, water sports, river/lake or sea fishing and cruises to Inishbofin, the Aran Islands or from Killary Harbour (all within 30 minutes from the hotel).

Clifden boasts all year round charm and a truly welcoming atmosphere. Celebrate in style at many significant events - the Connemara Pony show in August, Clifden Arts Week in September and the Clifden Pony Sales in October to mention but a few.
