Seanabhaile (Irish
name for The Old Homestead)
is a self-catering single storey farmhouse
set in rolling Kerry countryside.
The
house itself is in a secluded tree lined location,
set on a
dairy land farm, with a dairy and beef enterprise close by.
From the nearby roadway, there are breathtaking panoramic
views of the mountains, hills and rolling countryside.
There are beautiful paths, ideal for walking, with easy access,
by car, to the sea, beaches, golf courses, river and sea
fishing, and the equestrian center 15 minutes away.

Facilities:
Three bedrooms, one with en-suite facilities,Sitting
room with open fire and Colour TV, Dining room
with
Aga type cooker, Bathroom with shower, W.C. fully equipped
Kitchen with Electric Oven, Electric Kettle, Fridge, Toaster,
Frying Pan and Saucepans. All necessary cutlery and crockery.
Seanabhaile Farmhouse is situated
3 miles from Killorglin Town and 9 miles approx.
from Killarney. It is situated near the Kerry
Woollen Mills Factory established in the 17th
century. The factory is still operational and
employs 30 people. Visitors are welcome to
the factory shop. Guided tours of the factory
can be arranged in consultation with the proprietor.
Ballymalis Castle is just
a five minute drive away-this is a 17th century
Tower House used by the Ferris Family who were
guardians of the river Laune.-The river Laune rises
in the Lakes of Killarney and flows into the sea
at Ballykissane Harbour near Killorglin Town.
Killorglin Town (home of Puck Fair-10th, 11th, & 12th
of August) is situated on a hill overlooking the
majestic river Laune as it flows along gracefully
on
the final phase of its journey to the sea at nearby Ballykissane Harbour. The
river Laune is world famous for its salmon fishing.
Killorglin Town is the
gateway to the scintillatingly beautiful areas
of Caragh Lake, Glencar and the picturesque fishing
village of Cromane. These areas are paradise to
the fisherman and nature lover. The Caragh Lake
drive is a "must" as it takes you along the foothills
of Ireland's highest mountains-the McGillycuddy
Reeks (3414 ft) and through ancient Oak Woodlands
.Blackstone's Bridge is an ideal stopping point
on this route.

Killorglin Town is also
the gateway to the stunningly beautiful Ring of
Kerry which takes in the towns of Glenbeigh, Caherciveen,
Waterville, Caherdaniel, Sneem, Kenmare and Killarney.
The Ring of Kerry is a 112 mile tour of spectacular
scenery, particularly along the Ivereagh Peninsula,
which is surrounded by Dingle Bay to the North,
Kenmare Bay to the South and the broad Atlantic
Ocean to the West. Boat trips are available to
the Skellig Islands, a 6th century monastic site
eight miles from the mainland village of Portmagee,
just off the Ring of Kerry route. There are many
historical and archaeological scattered throughout
the Ring of Kerry and throughout the Dingle Peninsula
in West Kerry. Any information on these sites or

Killorglin Golf Club,
which is approx. two miles from the town, is an
18 hole course overlooking Dingle Bay. Dooks Golf
Club-one of the oldest in Ireland Est.1889 is approx.a
15 minute drive away. This is a Links-par 72 course.
It is adjacent to Dooks Strand and also the lovely
Rossbeigh Beach-3 miles of golden sandy beach with
blue flag status. (legend says that Oisin and Niamh
galloped out at Rossbeigh and over the sea to "Tir
na Nog").
Killarney has four Golf
Courses and there is a driving range near The Gap
of Dunloe at Beaufort.The Gap of Dunloe (formed
due to Glacial activity during the Ice Age) is
famous throughout the world for its natural beauty
and also its proximity to the Black Valley-famous
for its rugged beauty.Kate Kearneys cottage is
situated at the Gap of Dunloe-The film "The Colleen
Bawn" was filmed in this area .
The Killarney National Park which incorporates Muckross House and gardens and
lots of lakes and woodlands is a nature lovers Paradise. It consists of 23,000
acres and is home to the Red Deer and also some Sika Deer.
