There are 65 comfortable bedrooms, nearly all with views of the mountains, ocean and islands, and great sunsets. Renvyle House Hotel is a romantic old country house on its own farm, dating from 1883. Once the home of Oliver St John Gregory, this was where Yeats stayed on his honeymoon. Renvyle is famous for relaxed ambience and friendly welcome, with turf fires, cosy lounges, 9-hole golf course and award-winning food.

Over several centuries, Renvyle House Hotel has been built, pulled down, rebuilt, burned to ashes and rebuilt once again. A chieftain of one of the oldest and most powerful Gaelic clans in Connacht once lived here.
It was also the home of Oliver St. John Gogarty (Buck Mulligan of James Joyce's "Ulysses") and, since becoming a country house hotel in 1883, Renvyle House has played host to many famous people - Augustus John, Lady Gregory, Yeats and Churchill among them.

The cosy Long lounge with its open fires and the Conservatory with commanding views of the Connemara landscape offer you a quiet place for undisturbed reading, mid-morning coffee or the famous afternoon tea, or simply time to reflect on the peace and comfort of it all.

Golf, tennis, horse riding, swimming, snooker, boating, fishing, archery and clay pigeon shooting are just some of the facilities that you will find at Renvyle House Wonderful walking and cycling routes throughout an area that hosts a vast National Park. Room Information

Some of our bedrooms do still have turf fires, they are infinitely more spacious and luxurious these days. The restful colour schemes reflect the beautiful surroundings and cater to your every need.

Our bedrooms have magnificent views of Lake, Sea and Mountains.

Food and Beverage

The hotel enjoys an award winning restaurant which features a wide range of Irish and Continental cuisine. Irish beef, Connemara lamb and game dishes feature alongside seafood dishes using fresh fish caught daily off our shores.

The bar at Renvyle House is renowned for old style sing-songs and spontaneous entertainment.

During the day it has an award winning afternoon tea menu which includes fresh crab meat sandwiches, chowder and freshly baked hot scones with homemade jam and cream.

Tim O'Sullivan, our Head Chef for over 20 years is also a very active member of Eurotoques. Tim is an award winning chef and won the national title for the Moreau Chablis Fish Dish of the Year Award 2003.

The wine list is extensive and offers a selection from the best European vineyards complemented by a wide selection of "New World" wines.

The ambiance is relaxed with open fires, friendly efficient service and all complemented by Count John McCormack's concert Steinway
