Welcome to the Clonwyn House, centrally located in the idyllic town
of Portumna (Port of the Oak), just on the River Shannon, and close
to Lough Derg. There is simply nowhere more convenient to base
yourself if you need to stay in Portumna for an occasion, or simply
to discover these wonderful parts.

We are within walking distance of Portumna Castle and Abbey, the
marina, and Portumna Forest Park. We are surrounded by history, and
the adventerous type will find Portumna to be a hive of activity. |

Our premises offer fine accommodation with the best Irish breakfast,
a class bar with cosy front snug, live entertainment most weekends,
games room and a function room. |

You are spoilt for choice and can enjoy or experience a host of
activities, from sailing, canoeing, horse-riding, golfing go-karting,
long walks, cycling and swimming in the shannon just to mention a
few.
About Portumna
Portumna is the ideal place to base yourself for trips around the
region. Many beautiful towns, villages and attractions are within
only a short distance from the town. Only travel across the bridge,
and you are in Tipperary, fifteen minutes over the road brings you
to Offaly.
Ideally located in the most southern point of Galway, Portumna is
less than one hours driving time from the city centre. Shannon
International Airport is just over one and a half hours, and dublin
roughly two and a half. This makes Portumna very accessible by both
air and sea. Aer Lingus, Ryanair, BMI, EasyJet and Aer Arann all
operate daily flights to these airports from all major European hubs
and UK cities.
