Carrick-on-Shannon is Ireland's best-kept secret and is the ideal place for a holiday and central venue for touring the northwest. Daily cruises on the River Shannon with entertainment are on offer thanks to the Moon River Luxury Cruiser. Sights to see in the town include the Carrick Bridge & Quay, the Dock Arts Centre and St Mary’s Church, a cathedral dating back to 1879. This Gothic style building was designed by W.H. Hague, a distinguished Dublin architect. Swimming, fishing, golfing and pony-trekking are all available nearby.
