Designed by Ryder Cup star, Christy O' Connor Junior, and officially opened in August 1996, Gort Golf Club is an 18 Hole Championship Golf Course, set in 160 acres of picturesque parkland on the edge of the world famous Burren and within 200 yards of the historic monastic settlement of Kilmacduagh.
Gort Golf Club is located at Castlequarter, approximately 2 miles from Gort, Co. Galway. We are just 45 minutes drive from Shannon International Airport, and 30 minutes from Galway City, both of which are on the N17. Galway City, which has an abundance of excellent accommodation for the visitor, is 130 miles due west from Dublin.
Visitors to Gort Golf Club have always been most welcome and we hope you will find the present course an attractive and fair challenge. Remember, the area also affords the visitor the opportunity of visiting Coole Park, home of Lady Gregory and Thoor Ballylee, one time home of W.B. Yeats.
Bar and Restaurant
The spacious bar and restaurant, situated on the first floor overlooking the course, offers fabulous views from all sides, where you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with fine food and drinks..
Area
The course, set on the edge of the world renowned Burren, offers a unique opportunity to play golf whilst enjoying panoramic views of the Clare Hills, Sliabh Aughty Mountains and the much loved Coole Park.
