A superb range of excellent quality Irish made artists brushes for oils, watercolours and acrylics.

Watercolor ; Painting in pigments suspended in water and a binder such
as gum arabic. Traditionally used in a light to dark manner, using the
white of the paper to determine values.

About Art Brushes

Kolinsky Sable Brushes ; This is the top grade of hair for holding capacity due to the perfect ‘belly’, excellent snap and spring. Selected and made by hand enabling the brushmaker to ‘feel’ the belly and thus form a brush head which is symmetrical and tapered to perfection.

Acrylic Brushes ; Brushes used for acrylics, like those favoured by oil painters, have long handles that allow the artist to work at a distance from the canvas. Acrylic paints are more caustic than oils, so acrylic brushes are designed with synthetics and bristle. Fitch and sable are generally used only with oil paints.

Hake Brushes ; A hake brush is an oriental-style wash brush on a long flat handle. It is useful for laying in large areas of water or colour, for wetting the surface, and for absorbing excess media.
