There are several pubs in Ennistymon, many offering an excellent combination of traditional Irish food and traditional Irish music.

The River Inagh, which has some small rapids known as "the Falls", runs through the town, and a bridge across the river leads to nearby. Lahinch is a coastal town offering lots of activities. Surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing are all popular and easily accessible.
