Buttermilk Lodge - named after
Buttermilk Lake - Loch Ime, is a warm, comfortable and friendly home away from
home located just 5 minutes walk from Clifden town in beautiful Connemara. Our
home was purpose built to accommodate guests in comfort. Irish Tourist Board
Registered 3 Star Guesthouse, AA 4 Red Diamonds.
Bedrooms
Each bedroom is named after a local lake, individually
decorated, spacious and comfortable with multi-channel tv,
dd phone, radio, hairdryer personal toiletries, ironing
facilities, and many extras.
We cater for all your needs and more! The Double Rooms have
either a king or queen size bed, Twins Rooms have 2 single
beds and Triple Rooms have a queen and a single bed.
Dining - The Breakfast Room
We provide a great breakfast experience. There is a selection of beverages -
regular, herbal, decaffeinated etc. Help yourself to juices, cereals, fruits,
cheeses, cold meats, yoghurts, homemade breads, freshly baked scones and
croissants and then order from the selection on the extensive and varied
breakfast menu. Choose from the traditional options, homemade pancakes, fresh
fish, smoked salmon or the daily special. Our portion sizes are generous, no
need for lunch!.
The Living Room
The Guest Lounge has a real turf fire and you are welcome to help yourself from
the complimentary tea/coffee facilities, books, board games, etc at any time.
Corkscrews, bottle openers and glasses are provided. Read the Guest comment book
( since July 1997), and peruse the original art. There is complimentary
broadband internet access in the upstairs lounge area.
Connemara Ponies
Our Connemara Ponies and Blackface Sheep are raised on our land a few miles from
the house, if you wish to visit we'll give you directions, and if possible
accompany you with Toby ( Sheepdog) and Harley ( Golden Retriever).
Patrick and Cathriona your hosts, have many years experience in the hotel and
catering industry and use it and their local knowledge to create a real home
from home, catering for your every need.

Location
Just perfect, its 5 minutes walk ( 400 metres) to Clifden
centre, we are located on the N59 Clifden - Westport Road so
we are easy to find! From Galway as you enter Clifden, at
the Esso Station turn right onto the Westport Road, we are
400 metres up this road on the left.
From Westport, as you enter Clifden we are on the right just
after the 50km per hour speed limit sign.
We have lots of recommendations on restaurants, pubs, walks,
treks etc., and are only delighted to help you plan your
days, onward trips etc.
